A little bit about Rebekah

Currently in her 26th year in education, Rebekah holds an M.Ed. in Language and Literacy from Harvard University, an M.A. in Secondary English Education from Loyola Marymount University, and a B.A. in English from the University of Texas at Austin.

She has served in a variety of capacities including high school English teacher, student teacher supervisor, middle school ELA teacher, special education teacher, and educational consultant for DC schools. She has written high school English curriculum, social-emotional guides for classrooms, and Teach For America secondary literacy guides. Currently, she serves as a professor at Montgomery College, where she teaches Critical Reading, Writing, and Research.

She has also taught Common App essay writing to students throughout the US. Rebekah enjoys teaching writing and working with high school students to help them brainstorm, draft, and craft a compelling college essay, as well as supplemental essays tailored to each student’s specific schools and programs.

In her spare time, she enjoys going to Bethany Beach with her family, volunteering for the PTA, reading contemporary fiction, and walking her goldendoodle. She is also assistant producer for the Dear Nina Podcast: Conversations About Friendship.
